Are you over the age of 18 and looking for a way to connect with somebody outside of your daily routine? The Best Buddies Illinois Citizens Program might be for you!
The Citizens Program matches volunteers in the community in a one-to-one friendship with a person with an intellectual disability (Buddy) in your area. With minimum guidelines, this program provides flexibility and an experience centered around you and your match!
Citizens volunteers are asked to speak weekly with their Buddy, and spend time together twice a month. This can include attending a monthly Citizens event, or watching a Bears game on a Sunday - It's completely up to you! Our matches are made based on common interests, time availability, and location.
